Getting started in the gym can be scary, so many different products available to help your needs, people shoving recommendations down your throat, it can be overwhelming. This is a simple list of things I personally use in the gym just about every time I go, and I stand by their quality.

First, my headphones. Absolutely essential in my opinion. Many listen to podcasts or audio books while they work out, but I can't get through a workout without music. It helps me focus, get hyped to push as hard as I can, and keeps me on task. These I have linked below are the Sony WH-CH720N, quite a mouthful, I know, but they are a budget friendly option that I have been personally been using for over 2 years now, and I love them. As is common with sony, they have fantastic noise cancelling and transparency modes, and great sound quality, without the premium price tag.

Next is my watch. A bit basic, but the Apple Watch SE does all that I care for and more. It has a good battery life, easily lasting me all day, tracks my steps, heart rates, and even has compatibility with the app I use to track my workouts. Also a more budget-friendly option compared to some options, you can't go wrong with the trusty Apple Watch. If you don't have an iPhone, or just want an even more budget-friendly option, I can also recommend the CMF Watch Pro 2, or 3, though I only personally have the 2. Has an honestly insane battery life, but a little less compatibility compared to the Apple Watch.

Now, if you've been looking into weightlifting a lot, chances are you've heard a bit about lifting straps. There are many options out there, and from my experience, it doesn't matter too much which brand you go with. These help a TON with hitting your back muscles, getting rid of that pesky grip strength limiting your back gains. They really do make a huge difference, and I can't recommend them enough. First week using a pair, I PR'd on just about every back exercise I was doing, and my back was properly blasted the next day.

And honestly, those 3 options are plenty to get you started in the gym. You don't actually even need any of these to get a good workout in, but they're useful tools if implemented correctly. Full disclosure, the links below each recommendation are affiliate links, so I'll earn a bit of money if you do purchase anything using my links. More than anything, thank you for reading this far, and I hope I've helped you get started in your fitness journey.
